Like the time Chevrolet had the “Malibu SS” in the early 2000s, I can’t help but feel like the name needs to be different. The ST badge was always for the smaller, more nimble cars. Their sport compact FWDs. So with none left in the lineup, they just slap it on SUVs? Why?
I’m being pedantic, but I don’t care. Good vehicle, just change the damn name and #Brand.

Buying a three-row family vehicle does not meaning checking your purse or manhood at the door
Summing up most of what’s wrong with new cars these days...

I wouldn’t mind having one but I just can’t justify the cost or the size. It’s too much for me on both counts. Admittedly, if the cost were lower I might be able to rationalize the size, a t least in my mind, but used ones won’t be available yet when I plan to buy.

They lost me at, “...does not meaning...”

Hmm, once you go “Need 3 rows” this is definitely one of the better options based on the reviews I’ve watched this week.
![]() 06/20/2019 at 14:23 |

And I’d still take a SS. Even over this

I’m with you, t hey should have gone with SVT for the Explorer

The Explorer isn’t terribly big, to be honest, handles well. The extra power should be good.
/Did a track day in an Explorer

It’s just bigger than I need. I don’t have kids and/ or pets to be hauling around so a third row is useless for me . I also would prefer something that takes up less space in the garage. In the end, though, it’s the price that’s really the killer.

False. If you need 3 rows, a minivan is the correct choice.

Too bad that minivan doesn’t have sliding doors and a lower ride height.....

They are completely different experiences. The Cargo is noisy/unrefined feeling. The passenger is smooth/quiet/comfortable while offering car like handling, the only downside is the lack of power, hence, turbo kit.
